Community Service and Health & Wellness Go Hand in Hand!
February 27, 2010

Co-Founder and CFO Marina David received an urgent email from the local Salavation Army.  Marina passed the request for help on to Directors Kim Perry (Roseville) and Joy Stern (Elk Grove) and as a result AIM HIGHER used all of the community service skills that have developed through years of helping others.  But this call for help required more than just folks that wanted to help.  The Salvation Army needed people who could do a lot of hard work in a very short period of time.

AIM HIGHER's emphasis on Community Service is matched by our passion for Health & Wellness.  With our state of the art fitness program in Elk Grove and all of the exercising we do with our various Special Olympics teams we were able to send 20 eager and very capable men and women to help Feed the Children.

Huge thanks go out to the Edmond David (Roseville Vocational Instructor) and Seneca St. James (Elk Grove Vocational Instructor) for making it happen!

URGENT NEED FOR VOLUNTEERS!

Feed The Children has partnered with The Salvation Army in Sacramento to distribute eight semi tractor-trailers
full of food and personal care items to help 3,200 pre-selected Sacramento families at Cal Expo (1600 Exposition Blvd).

The distribution is the latest stop on Feed The Children’s Americans Feeding Americans Emergency Caravan,

which has helped more than 30,000 families across the country in cities that have been affected by the nation’s economic downturn.

Each pre-selected family will receive a 25-pound box of food and a 10-pound box of personal care items, along with Avon products.

Vouchers have been mailed to local families.  The boxes are designed to help a family for up to one week.

This will be a very face-paced and physical volunteer day!

We'll be outdoors in an uncovered parking lot.
Volunteers will be lifting boxes and escorting the families back to their vehicles using shopping carts.
