By the Orange Grove Journalism Class

We have had a busy year here at AIM HIGHER Orange Grove, from becoming more active in our community, to the various outings we have gone to, and the wonderful productions that we have put on.

Our Aktion Club has motivated us to get out into the community more and volunteer just about every week. We go to the Kiwanis Family House twice a week to help clean up the kitchens to washing the windows. We have also donated money that we raised to the Kiwanis Family House so that they could buy supplies that they needed. We are currently working on getting a bench donated to them for their bus stop outside. The Aktion club was very busy this year putting on events like the Spaghetti Feed, the Walk-A-Thon, Halloween Dance and the Bake Sale.

This year was said to be the best year of outings by the clients. They have gone to local shops such as the Madison Cafe or local bird shop. Experience some festive outings like going to Calson Manor, the Pumpkin Patch, and Apple Hill. Fun outings have included the California State Fair, the Bowling Ally, and Mini-golfing.

Theater Project and Choir have been in full performing mode this past year. Theater Project put on the wonderful production of Annie and the Magic Kingdom, a one of a kind Thriller dance, and are currently they are working on a funny comedy sketch music video. Choir has learned a variety of different songs from various styles of music such as rock, soul, hip-hop, classics, Thanksgiving and Christmas themed.
