Orange Grove’s Aktion Club held it’s first ever Walk-A-Thon to support the Kiwanis Family House. Proceeds of the Walk-A-Thon will allow the Family House to purchase new bedding and furnish rooms for families to stay in while their children are being treated in the hospital. Today we raised close to $2000 from pledges and the $1 BBQ to feed the hungry walkers. Families came out to support our clients and the cause they are so dedicated to. There was a great show of support.
I love the interaction that I get with the consumers being a Covina Program Instructor. Its great being part of their progression and seeing them achieve their goals! My favorite class is Arts and Craft because you get to see their imaginations run wild. I always encourage them to keep going and not to give up because the possibilities are endless!
